2024 March 27--Notice of Sewer Maintenance--Residents of Blair Avenue and Dawson Street. The District of Wells would like to inform residents of upcoming sewer line maintenance in their area:
Blair Avenue and Blanchette Street
Tuesday April 2nd, 2024, crews from the District of Wells and Northern Lites Technology will be conducting sewer main flushing. Activity will begin on Blanchette street and progress in the direction of the lift station (corner of Blair and Dawson). Any houses along this route (and on Dawson) with inadequate plumbing venting could experience water being expelled from drains. This water is the residual that normally sits in drain P-traps and protects sewer gases from entering the home. A recommended precaution would be to cover drains if plumbing venting is unknown or in question. It will be important for homeowners to refill their drain P-traps to protect from sewer gases if water has sprayed out.
Dawson Street
D.o.W. staff will be traversing behind properties on the sewer easement along Dawson Street. The goal of this initial search is to locate Manhole lids for a GPS survey with GPS mapping work to be conducted the week of April 1st-5th. The GPS work will be completed by Radloff Engineering. Once the snow has melted, District of Wells staff will conduct brush removal on the easement to facilitate future maintenance.
Please call the Facilities, Lands and Infrastructure Manager at 250-991-6115 if you have any questions or concerns.
