Wells Official Art

On June 29 the community got together to celebrate the 19th Anniversary of Wells since incorporation. It was great that with everyone’s busy schedules, people still made time to come out and enjoy each other’s company.

We also made the announcement of the winner of the Wells Official Art Contest. We were fortunate to have three entries this year from: Lindsay Kay, Holly McRae and Bill Horne.

The winner was Lindsay Kay.

We will be uploading photos of her artwork and more information on this program and we look forward to rolling it out again for our 20th anniversary.

Meet Lindsay Kay

Lindsay Kay is a visual artist who works mainly in acrylic painting and mixed media. Lindsay Kay Art carries a wide variety of Lindsay’s own original works as well as archival reproductions. Her love for her hometown of Wells and its surrounding region is evident in many of her works. Lindsay has exhibited her work in galleries and shows throughout BC, including the Smithers Art Gallery (Smithers), the Station House Gallery (Williams Lake), The Breeze Gold and Gallery (Quesnel), the Chilliwack Museum (Chilliwack) and Island Mountain Arts here in Wells.

Lindsay jokes that her venture into entrepreneurship came out of desperation. In reality, it was her intense passion for art that brought with it the desire to develop the business side of her work. Lindsay simply loves to create, and marketing her work allows her to continue doing what she is so passionate about. “I love the act of collaboration with non-artists and the beauty of creating something that before was just an idea in someone else’s mind,” Lindsay states.

In addition to her original works of art, Lindsay Kay also welcomes commission work and offers a wide variety of artistic and design services. This includes logo design, sign making, cards, stickers, calligraphy and more.
